Report written by Anastasia Hancock (she/her)
You're all legends, every one of you, but there was one particular legend we were celebrating last night and that was our Michelle who has reached that fabled milestone that is quite literally years in the making. That's right, Michelle is the first Hounslow GoodGymer to reach 500 good deeds. Now that deserves a massive round of applause!
We did a bit of digging about and found out that Michelle's first ever good deed was moving an old fridge at Friends of Cathja. Lucky the days of a very fierce dog who used to guard the charity entrance fearsomely (and the many mice who roamed free) are behind her, and last night's task was a much nicer one to celebrate the anniversary.
We were asked by Cavendish School to come and help paint the corridors during half term, and we arrived to find the place all set up with sheets, rollers and much paint.
With so many pairs of hands it didn't take long for us to start making real progress. We divided and conquered with Kash and Lucy doing a sterling job in the loo and the rest of us cutting in, rolling and filling different sections. And as you can see from the pictures, there was one very special star of the week working hard as always (but sorry about the jump photos!).
Next week we'll be at Chiswick House and there is a community mission to help spread the word about a donations drive on Saturday.
All that's left to say is that wherever you are on your GG journey, whether it be working towards that black tshirt or going for the 500 crown, you're doing a brilliant job supporting your local community and you should be proud of yourself! And to star Michelle - here's to your next 500!
