Four members of Coventry goodgym met Esther at the allotment for lots gardening, chatter and even a cake in the sun. Being local, Vickie, Susanne and Lil enjoyed a lovely cycle over to the allotment today.

Laura and Vickie shared the mowing, making a pathway through the expansive allotment site and leaving it looking tidy. Everyone got stuck in with the weeding and tending to the asparagus plants. Esther told us all about how much care they need, especially in their early stages. Towards the end of the session, Esther led us in potting seedlings, including tomatoes and lettuces, under the welcome shade of the apple trees. Oh, and we even found time for a catch-up and snack too. As always, it’s great to support springboard with their fantastic allotment which is such an asset and support to so many other organisations in Coventry. We will be back next month to check in on the progress of all the growing, especially the asparagus plants.
