First Goodgym of the Summer holidays and numbers were down a bit, but the teachers were grinning from ear to ear! We welcomed Louise, who had recently moved to Colchester from Sheffield.

Tonight's task was a nice simple litter pick for Colchester Borough Council by the footpath between the Rowan House and Matalan Car Parks.

We must have collected 1000 cigarette butts, but not every goodgymer was motivated to clear litter when they saw the children's play area and instead went on the swings - not naming any names...

As we were coming to the end of our litterpick, Bob found a brand new pair of shoes, still with the tags on. We determined that they must have been from Matalan, and they had probably been stolen - why else would they have been left in the bushes? So Tav took the shoes back to the shop. Not only do we do some litter clearance in Colchester, but also some light detective work...

Then on to our fitness session - since we were so close to Balkerne hill, it made sense to use it, and the session was 4 hill reps of Balkerne hill. I'm not sure that any Goodgym has as tough fitness sessions as we do. Its great to see those who were barely running a few months ago able to do this tough hill session. And its also great to see so many of us so enthusiastic about entering the Colchester Half Marathon.
