Friday Hub 1st shift for StephDucat at Ealing Soup Kitchen : upon arrival unloading of all the groceries with Toby a volunteer from Ealing Soup Kitchen. Loads of fruit, vegetables, yoghurts, bread, chicken 🐔, fries, snacks. We then prepared the usual bags for the homeless and the ones with kitchens. We topped all this with cherries 🍒 loads of them. Then I helped out with some DIY the Mac Gyver style : as the shower was back in order today, but missing a shower curtain . I improvised with a thick bag, made holes at the top to hook them to the shower rail so that water would stay inside. This did the trick and the shower was fully operational. Temporary solution for the day. Then moved to help out and get ready for the kitchen service for my 2nd shift.
Ealing Soup Kitchen is a registered charity set up to help the vulnerable and homeless in the area. Nine local churches support our faith-based Soup Kitchen, which has been running since 1973.
