Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by StephDucat
Cloudy Saturday morning mission and 2 goodgymers, Madhan and Steph made their way to Grove Farm by foot and mountain bike. Collected tools and while we were waiting for duties, we started litter picking. Mike then asked us to come and help him clear the path we started clearing in our previous venues. We reached our working spot and it looked like a forrest. Was the Predator hiding in there? Both of us moved branches, tree trunks and old wood to make the path visible. As we went along, Madhan and Steph started with an Olympic discipline....javelin throwing 🤣👌 quicker to move some of the long straight pieces of wood. Then we were offered giant cookies that Martine made. They were delicious. We quickly went back to our duties, then Madhan was attacked and lost his shoe 👞 plus his sock!!! Who attacked him? Was it the predator from the woods that is invisible or was it the cookie monster? Maybe it was one of the volunteers 🙋♂️. Madhan retrieved his sock and shoe which was stuck in the branches when we were moving them off the path that we were creating. Our time was up and a new path was visible. We also got another massive cookie 🍪 as a reward 😋 . Both of us planned our journeys to our next mission in different locations.
Conservation work in Grove Farm a nature reserve in North Greenford. We do a variety of tasks including clearing brambles to improve plant diversity, planting trees, creating ponds. Also litter picking when required.
