Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Madhan
When I arrived for the mission, Mr. A greeted me warmly and asked "How long you'll be here". Unfortunately, I misunderstood his question and thought he was asking "How long you've been here" and replied 4 years. Shocked by my response, he then repeated the question, and I realized that he was referring to my association with GoodGym. I clarified that I've been with GoodGym for four months. He asked me again how long I would be there, but this time he spoke more slowly to avoid any further confusion. Regrettably, I awkwardly responded that I would only be there for one hour.
The first task was to dispose of 5/6 recycle bags in the bin. They looked big, but they are not heavy as I thought they would. I needed to ring Mr.A to open the automatic door of the apartment as the bin disposal area was outside the apartment. On my 3rd and final attempt, Mr.A hold the door for me and saved me from pressing the buttons.
There were 10 new cardboard boxes ready for the next task. We used 1 box to dump the waste papers, mail, and bills. 1 box is filled with some tools. And the remaining 8 were filled with books. Almost every book looked brand new. Mr.A love to read books but said he couldn't find time to read them all and don't want them to get creased as they were lying outside. Once all the boxes are filled, Mr.A asked me to clear some space in the kitchen and stack the boxes. Doing a couple of GoodGym missions in City Harvest helped me how to lift and shift the boxes.

Great work Madhan, I'm glad to see that the City Harvest safety training on lifting boxes paid off and can be used somewhere else! We are lucky that you're not stuck at Mr A's for the next 4 years 😂 What would we do without you?

I would have received a badge for "longest goodym task ever" 😂
