It always makes me chuckle when people see the GG shirt and ask me where the gym is that I go to. This is happening no less often during the lockdown, in fact there’s been an outpouring of sympathetic words and enquiring looks whenever I’ve been stood in the queue for a supermarket. From shop security to cashiers there’s usually someone who’ll ask me how I’m managing with “the gym” closed.

Today was no different. I was in the queue to pick up some fish for Mr and Mrs R who I’d met on a mission at the weekend. They’d not had fish for 4 weeks because they’re shielding at home and can’t get to the usual places they go for their weekend treat of wild salmon and fresh parsley sauce. Being pescatarians they’ve really missed this during lockdown so when I offered to come back with some fish they took me up on the offer and asked for a few more of their favourite foods.

Mr and Mrs R wanted to cover my travel costs at first but I explained they were getting me out of the house and active for the day. So instead they’ve made a donation to charity as a thank you.
