Report written by Nicky Woodall (she/her)
๐ 16 smiling GoodGymmers met for our group run and multiple celebrations this evening ๐
๐ฅณ We cheered everyone who ran at Burnsall at the weekend (especially Jenna who won her age category in the 10k), wished Amy a very happy birthday and whooped for Leanne's epic 900 (technically 901 tonight) good deeds. What heroes๐ฆธโโ๏ธ๐ฆธโโ๏ธ
๐ป Speaking of heroes, it's apparently National Superheroes Day this week so as we named and numbered off, we said the superhero we'd like to be. Superted and Bananaman were surprisingly popular ๐
๐จ Leanne and Mitch led a warm up session and with that, we were off, running up to Park Grove School to paint a fence an attractive (Incredible Hulk-tone, to be precise) shade of green. We received our instructions from Vicky and set to work, pairing off to share tubs of paint. As we were required to paint all sides of the panels (including underneath), some people opted for the laid back (on the floor) approach ๐
๐ช As the end of our task time approached, we realised we had a tad more to do to ensure we dovish at an appropriate point and didn't leave a panel half-finished. We buckled down and got the job done with just enough time for a very quick Rock, Paper, Scissors fitness session. This was made even quicker when Graham the caretaker advised us to watch any paint from our hands sooner rather than later ๐ณ
๐ธ After a quick group photo by our handiwork, we jogged back to base where Mitch led a cool down stretching session. We then enjoyed some delicious cake in honour of Amy's birthday and said our farewells ๐
๐ Thank you everyone, and hopefully see you soon. (We're likely to be heading back to Park Grove sometime soon to complete our painting task so look out for that) ๐
