Time to return to our friends at Cwtch Together. A year on from the mammoth task of constructing three storage units, the charity needed our help again.

We had a few newer runners this evening, including Rob who was doing a spot of GoodGym tourism from Bath and Sean, who hadn't been to Cwtch before. Our host Sarah gave us a bit of insight into what Cwtch Together do. Sarah explained that it's a group set up to support disabled children and their families through play. The charity promote an inclusive approach and enable families to come together at the Scout Hall. The group are hoping to restart in person soon and needed our help to clear the weeds and fill the storage units so that the children could move around the hall freely and play outside safely.

Off to work we went.... Martin started by tackling the brambles - no mean feat but in almost no time at all, had made a significant dent in clearing the area. Andrew and Rob moved some of the outdoor toys into the storage unit - lots of fun toys including scooters, a toy frog and a giant Connect 4 (we resisted the urge to stop and play!). The rest of us tackled the weeds - keen to ensure that they were banished for good. We dug deep to tackle the weeds at the root and then put down an anti weed covering before coating with stones. Sarah explained that she plans to source some pebbles so that the children can paint them and place them on the cleared area.

Our work was finished - amazing what we achieved together in such a short space of time. Sarah was beyond thrilled and sent a follow up e-mail to say "We couldn't have done this project without the help of your lovely team. The speed at which you work together is amazing!"
