Report written by Paul Becker (he/him)
14 runners met at Mudock on a frosty Saturday morning to run to help Northern Slopes.
Once there, we were greeted by lovely volunteers who showed us the tasks we had to choose from. One group of us were cutting down brambles and trees to help clear a path in the green space of the park. We uncovered many lost treasures including a buggy covered in moss which looked quite post-apocalyptic on its own out there.
Another group was doing the noble task of litter picking which is admirable so close after new year’s.
A third group helped clear another bpath and make it more attractive to local walkers. We didn’t clear all the brambles but made impressive progress and after our time was over we were rewarded with hot tea and yummy biscuits. A perfect treat to warm us up before the run back. Well done everyone!
Thanks Danica for the report and title!
