What a beautiful day for the Fratton Family Festival, the sun was out, the road was shut and the local residents were out in force.
Mel was first on the scene, arriving at 630am to help set up the gazebo, hang bunting and Fratton Big Local signage.
Between 1030 and 430 the team of Mel, Sam, Jen, Judy, India, Catherine and I rotated to cover collection bucket shaking, programme handing out and blowing up & stringing 250 purple FBL balloons! 🎈
Some other highlights of the day were Mel getting her face painted as a dog (she's never had her face painted before); some of us met the dogs who work on the illegal tobacco and cash team and I picked up my "Inspiring Fratton" award for GoodGym Portsmouth... I couldn't have won that without everyone's hard work and enthusiasm every week so THANK YOU all members of GoodGym Portsmouth (sadly there wasn't the opportunity to do an Oscars style acceptance speech!)
There was also a big thank you to all the team today from Father Bob & Anna of Fratton Big Local
