Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Greeted by warm air and that chlorine infused aroma, I knew it was time for GG Newham - lovely jubbly.
Immy, Jonny and Phoebe joined us for their first GoodGym ever! They didn't look to be contemplating the significance of their GG debut and got stuck straight in.
We whipped through our warm up, saw Siobhan absolutely motor past us, twice, we made sure she heard us. Cracking sub 45min 10k done by her.
We then zipped over to Boleyn rd with two groups arriving a few mins apart. Immy ran backwards into a lamp post - in the alley of death. He shrugged it off with no fuss. Myself, Alex and Rodrigo have all buckled on that life threatening throughway. Who's next?!
Myra had a landscape gardening treat in store for us. Asides from the normal gravel laying, which you finished the final bag of (woop), we also had to wrap the meticulously crafted stone border you created two weeks back. Unroll the chicken wire and encase some massive stony sausages - that's the first time I've said that - you guys weren't fazed by the new task.
Speedily shifting the stones into the wire, then tightening it together using the combined strength of the group, another demonstration of how imperative team-work and healthy numbers are on Wednesday. No chance of doing that solo. Another very satisfying evening in Boleyn rd, so much done, visually rewarding stuff.
We finished up just past 8, then sprinkled in a few sprints in on the way home, spiking those metabolic rates and sharpening your biomechanics.
Next week week we are at cody dock, Sign up here. Let's see how many peeps we can get helping restore this lovely public area.
I'm currently in an uber somewhere near Croydon, my 4 48am train got cancelled with no notification...presuming I catch my flight, I won't see you till the 26th. The Social week! James Poole ultra marathon hard man is taking over next week, tap him up for endurance tips.
Have a coorking easter and speak soon!
