Running Dirty

1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Bristol.

Mrs S (88) and her daughter Miss J (presumably younger) were self isolating for health reasons and needed someone to pick up their prescriptions. I’m lucky I work for a great company (shoutout to Bud!) that let me take a break from coding to help deliver their medications to them.

I jumped on the chance to get involved and was happy to be selected as missions are very popular! (Well done Goodgymers!) It’s great that so many people want to help out.

After a lovely run in the beautiful sunny weather I arrived at the pharmacy and waited in the queue. I’ve actually never picked up prescriptions before so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Luckily everything went smoothly and the only questioning I got was when the pharmacist couldn’t understand my American accent. Seeing how they work further solidified my appreciation for pharmacists and other essential workers. They really are heroes.

Miss J was very appreciative for the prescriptions but overall I felt like I was the one that benefited most from this. I got to do what I love most, running, guilt-free in the warm sunshine and see all the spring flowers in bloom. Recently there’s been a lot of negativity towards runners in my area so it felt amazing to help prove that those accusations are unfounded.

I also saw this fantastic cat on a roof near the pharmacy. The picture doesn’t do him justice but I assure you he was fabulous.

I'm making a lot of effort to give pedestrians a wide berth, often into the road.

Same here John. I haven’t seen any runners being inconsiderate yet.
