Sues 100th Good Deed
It was an epic evening for GoodGym Worthing as we joined together to celebrate Sue 100th good deed. More about this later but suffice to say, we are very proud of Sue and all her running and community achievements.
The calm after the storm
Thank goodness we found a window in the weather ( and the storms ) as tonight we were on the seafront working at at Anchor Gardens Community Gardens. This is a project that we have worked regularly on since we started GoodGym nearly 5 years ago in March 2017.
Tonight we walked along to the task situated close to our meeting point at Splashpoint Leisure Centre.
We donned the headlights and fired up the Ivo GoodGym lights and got down into the gritty job of weeding the shingle and pruning the spiky palm.
Many thanks to Belinda for being photographer tonight and also to our very own cake man hero Jayfor running over from his new home town of Brighton ( boo) to mark this very special day.
45 minutes later we downed the tools, sealed the bags of rubbish and headed for the pub. Time to celebrate!
100 tasks young !
With a glass in hand we all watched whilst Sue opened her gift that John had made. This was an exquisite needle felt avitar of Sue in her GG tee shirt sporting her signature pink hat and her brand new GG angel wings. A memento that surely will be treasured forever! Thank you John and thank you Sue for all the hard work over the weeks, months and years of your time. When asked her favourite task Sue said Heene Cemetery :)
Special mention must also go to Paul for all his hard work together with husband John who we joined us at the pub. Finally special love to Barbara who, despite a few health problems still manages to turn up week in week out in support of her GG family.
Spring and light evenings are just around the corner and we cant wait! It wont be long before we are back at all our favourite places, including Heene Cemetery!
See you next week. Task TBC
