Tonight was a night like no other… Why you might be wondering… Because tonight we will be running to help out the RSPB, an organisation we’ve not helped before. Keep reading to find out how it went.

“Role up role up! Get you daps on, it’s time to go running!” No new faces this week unfortunately however there were lots of friendly faces… because at GoodGym we are friendly (or at least we try our best to be!). Before going for our run made sure we got warmed up, and today that meant we would play a game of FISH AND CHIPS!! Contrary to its name you actually burn calories playing this game… unless you actually eat fish and chips whilst you play it which is not advised! – So how does this game work? – Runners jog around and when the lead person shouts fish and chips everyone gets paired up and says either “fish” or “chips” to their partner. If they say the same thing they have to do 10 star jumps, however if they say different they have to do 10 squats! There were a few dodgey calls with people winking at one another before giving their answer.

Time to run!

Without further ado, feeling warm, ripe and ready, it was time to go for our run! It was a relatively short run to the task this week and, aside for our run to help out at the Snowdog auction, it may actually be the closest task to date.

GoodGym – Thank goodness you are here! We have a HUGE task that we need some help with.

“Music to our ears” bellowed Lucy. Sue from the RSPB then began telling us all about the RSPB and our task for the evening, whilst competing with the sound of the church bells that seemed to be endless.

NEW GAME –It’s the, not so general, general knowledge question! A new game this week… It still gets your mental cogs working though…

What is the only letter of the alphabet that does not appear in the perodic table?

Have a think and when you want to find out the answer, the answer is the letter which is missing from the following sequence of the letters of the alphabet... ABCDEFGHIKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ

Time is up!

Well done everyone. You all managed to fill the skip and had another skip been there you would have filled that one too. The RSPB were so appreciative of all our hard efforts and even after 5 minutes of us being there they couldn't believe how much of a dent we had created already.

Other mentions

  • We nearly have our Welsh flyers! They will be going off to print hopefully by the end of the week!
  • It is Lorena’s final run with GoodGym Cardiff – Lorena you have been an asset to the cause. You are an incredible runner and person and you will be greatly missed. Please do keep in touch and keep wearing your GoodGym tee with pride.

The RunPunStiltskin award this week goes to Darren. Will done the Raz Machine – Jan would be proud.
