Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
31 Runners ran 8k to shift 1425kg of food for Vauxhall Foodbank.
Another Tuesday at Goodgym and another trip to the Vauxhall foodbank. We had a big group of 30 or more eager runners, including some new faces. The 4km run up to the food bank was pretty steady and everyone had a good chat and scouted out a potential mid-week running partner from the group. Once at the food bank we were tasked with sorting out a mega load of Campbell’s soup, weighing and sorting new donations and heaving some crates around. With some good team work and a bit of muscle we completed our task in record time and were out in a bit over 20 minutes.
"more core"
Before the run home we did some more core exercises, which everyone enjoyed just as much as last week! Once our core’s were well and truly destroyed we divided into three teams to run back to Brixton.
The challenge for the run home was to do four ‘sprint sections’ to really push ourselves and increase our lung power. The middle team had an enthusiastic start but went completely the wrong way! Once we had righted ourselves we powered through the sprint sections down Brixton road, taking in a street fight and lots of bewildered pedestrians. We all made it home in one piece, endorphins pumping! Better check the map a bit more carefully next time….
