Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Michael Welsh
Today, fellow Goodgymmer Jade from GoodGym Lewisham and myself visited St. George the Martyr church in Borough to sort and stock today's delivery.
We had to wait for quite a while for the delivery to arrive, so we sorted the shelves of food that could be disposed of in the food waste. When the delivery came we worked on shelving the items.
It was a unique delivery of items today, highlighted by a large delivery of Haribo sweet tins, along with carrots (of the wonky type), cabbages, bags of long grain rice, Chana Dal and Starbucks coconut flavoured cold coffee (Does anybody drink this? 🤔).
Once again we managed to stock all items ready for the Thursday supermarket at the Church.
The food cooperative provides members with low cost food to help reduce food bills and tackle food insecurity. It also reuses surplus food to prevent food being thrown away.

Thank you Michael for writing the run report and taking photos. Always appreciate it! It's interesting when you get an unique delivery of all assortments :)

Thanks Sam, no problem. Yes the deliveries to the church often vary in type.
