Early on Saturday morning, 4 GoodGymers turned up at Horsenden Farm not knowing what today's task would be. Previously there had been wire fence origami, shed rolling and nettle picking. Today's task would be 🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁 preparing a mountain goat paddock, both to make sure that the goats were safe and also to stop the crafty beasts from escaping.

The first task was to remove big rolls of wire to stop the goats hurting themselves. The ask was to put the wire behind a barn, on a slope.

Sevan built a makeshift bridge over a cow pat that was right outside the gate. This allowed Laura and Kash to roll the wire out of the gate, down the hill and behind the barn. After a while, Sevan went to find Kash surrounded by nettles, trying to pull the roll of wire into position on the slope while Laura pushed.

Why were they trying to place the wire on a slope, in a patch of nettles?

A different approach with less stinging was tried and failed. The wire rolled to the bottom of the hill and they decided that this was actually the best place for it and left it there. It was soon joined by its kids, the smaller wire pieces.

Jump Around, Jump Around, Jump Up, Jump Up, Then Goat Down

The 3 found Harvey, then went back to remove some pallets from the paddock. The group were surprised to find 2 billy goats already there, making the place their home.

They tried to work around the goats to move the pallets, however the goats wanted to play. The goats blocked the pallets' path and then chose to jump onto a neighbouring building's roof. Soon the goats had had their fun and they slid off the roof and down a barn door (also their way up), almost taking Harvey out.

The last task was to stop the goats escaping, so the team set about dismantling the "stepping stones" up to the neighbouring roof.

The GoodGymers put their minds into goat mode and sussed out the possible escape routes. The pile of logs stacked against the barn doors was removed, then the barn doors were stood up straight. Now their mountain goat selves thought it would be hard to bound our way out of the paddock unless some foolish human left the gate open...

With their new security system in place, the GoodGym team waited...

One goat made a break for it, trying to jump onto the barn door. With the extra height needed, the goat landed back on the ground with a thud. Fearing defeat, the goats started bleating at the GoodGymers who stared back at them smugly.

No animals were harmed in the making of this report, apart from the humans stung by nettles
