Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
This weeks run was a lucky for some 13 Goodgym runners heading out for a flat but fast 4k (6k in goal tonight) out to Royal Victoria park to plant 1000 bluebells around a circle of very old trees to stop people walking through and damaging the roots.
We were blessed with good weather again as the group headed out to the bridge for a warm up session before heading left down to Pultney road and the swift journey out towards Widcombe, A few Loops to re group before arriving at Churchill bridge and some lovely walking lunges I must say we had some very strange looks tonight
A small incline to Green Park and Charlotte street with a much desired trio of hill reps up Marlborough lane
Hills glorious Hills
A re group at the monument to locate the Parks gate in the dark ( funny how things look different at night) we almost joined forces with the military boot camp, who looked confused when we armed ourselves with shovels and bulbs before making the short spurt to the Bandstand and circle of trees.
Splitting into 5 groups as we had 5 bags of bulbs to plant in 5 clumps... High Five around the tree canopies and grateful for our head torches the group worked their magic lifting the turf and Earth to scatter the bulbs underneath making light work of the task in hand, we took advantage to stamp the ground back down with some squat jumps around the trees and some more walking lunges let`s hope the squirrels stay away We have vowed to come back in the spring for a picnic and enjoy the fruits of our labour.
A swift 2k back with a quick detour past Bath on Ice and the illuminated crazy golf cause it looks pretty before heading back down to the Abbey for a quick group photo under the Christmas tree and a look at the Christmas market before arriving back at base to take in a much needed stretch.
A quick reminder if you want to be paired up let Steph know and she will explain all to you.
Kenta has organised a 2k fun run around the university of Bath on Dec 5th to raise funds for the British heart foundation called ..
