Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Peter Van Tongeren
A morning with lovely running weather saw a bunch of Goodgym runners gather at Wanstead Flat parkrun, eager to follow the example set by Eliud Kipchoge in Monza in the early hours and ready to fly around the local 5k course.
After a little catching-up it was time to set off amidst a record number of runners for the course. For several this was their first experience with Wanstead Flats or even Parkrun, while others done it before, but all put in a great effort and personal/seasons best times were achieved. Even though Kevin was supposed to save his legs a bit for the long run on Sunday, his sprint finish must have been one of the fastest of the day, almost running over the man handing out the tokens, so quick. And Angela looked still fresh coming across the line, even though she ran all the way with a backpack!
A day before her marathon Alice cheered on from the side line, with Sharon joining her to see the #red(andblack)army home. Where some had other things, the majority went for a well-deserved breakfast, as is custom.
Well done to all, good luck to Alice with her upcoming marathon, apologies for not registering everyone (yet?), I forgot to take down details.
