A beautiful evening for a litter pick.

We couldn't of asked for better weather. We spent a glorious evening along the Basingstoke Canal near Knaphill. It was a pleasure to welcome Rosie on her first group run experience and we welcomed back Sharon for her second group run.

We met Alys on the water who had paddled from her home along the canal to meet us. We all now how Alys loves a litter pick and she was on top form, litter picking on her paddle board. Myself, Rosie and Sharon headed along the path to on a search for litter. We completed a lovely loop and found some interesting things along the way. We met up with Alys at one point and we discovered a coconut with a straw still in it. This was a heavy object and our bags started to fill with spam cans, bottles and even a washing up liquid bottle which still had washing up liquid inside.

It was a lovely evening and what a great way to enjoy the weather and help the environment at the same time.

Next week

We will be meeting at the Knaphill community fridge - please make your own way there as I know everyone will be running from different directions. If you know you live near someone else then arrange to meet up and run together.
