Pleasantly surprised by numbers yesterday, as a few didn't sign up, but appeared mysteriously out of the post rain mist. We discussed which politician we would, or would not like to see nude; The PM? No. Osbourne? No. Gove? No. Patel? Yes, in an elaborate ploy to expose and oust her. Mogg? Hell no. Churchill? Yes. Farage? NO!
After confirming we don't want to see any naked tories....Theresa May jumped out of a bush in her pants running towards a field of wheat. We didn't take any notice as we had work to do, off to Cody Dock we ran.
Basia was in teacher mode, showing us the task and then guiding us through it, with an eagle eye on the quality of the oiling. Had to spread it quickly, evenly and thinly....and get the 3mm edge, obviously. It was a mixture between therapeutic wrist motions as we watched the wood turn a lovely golden brown, but also a high pressure cauldron of fear and worry as Basia marched around and re-did our work. The best of both worlds.
Kev reached 300 deeds on the weekend, so yesterday was his 301st. We celebrated the great man with a swiss roll and drink. A remarkable achievement, consistently showing up and helping out others, several years of incredibly reliable service to his community. Massive respect.
Next week we've got a new task, I've changed the start point so it's a shorter run. Sign Up here
Till then
