Tonight, was the return to the Samye Foundation, our tasks had been slightly altered. Originally this was to be our return to group runs but this must be delayed, and so it was a community mission and outside tasks only.

Nothing to worry about though as there was still plenty to do, from three bay windows to clean up, to weeding the front space (plus some of the back if time allowed), and finally wind the wisteria.

Unfortunately, there had been come confusion with the change of mission from group - community and a couple of our crew were late, but as we are goodgym we do not give up and they arrived all the same.

We had a quick picture, which Lorraine took at the start of the task and then we were off.

The crew were split up.

  • Sophie was winding the wisteria back around the trellis and pergola so that it did not find its way into the neighbours' yard.
  • Ellen & Lucy were cleaning those windows, squeegee, brush, bucket of soapy joy and hosepipe to hand.
  • Pete, Nathan, Sean & Llion got down on the floor, removing as many ‘weeds’ as possible from the front yard to tidy it up.
  • Michael went out back to cut back the bushes that were taking over the pathway and preventing the volunteers to get to the back easily. They were also starting to encroach on the windows.

But wait there is more, hello there Karolina….and Welcome to WALES Michelle. You still made it and got to work as us goodgymers always do. We finished up after an hour, grabbed some snacks that had been put out and of course, had our group photo.
