What an eggcellent night! 6 amazing GoodGym runners did not chicken out of running a massive 5 miles/8km to Westcott Park Community Garden! The garden has been set up completely by volunteers, 2000 volunteer hours has got them to where they are so far and they still have a lot of work to do. It's an amazing initiative! We were very clucky to visit!

Big shout out to Gaia for running her longest run yet...she didn't chicken out! You are smashing it and have had such a big improvement, go Gaiaaaa!

It all started at Bodyline Studios, I couldn't 'bee' more glad to see everyone! We had a nice little jaunt to the garden with a slight detour due to some questionable google map reading skillz (sorry guys!) but cluckily we soon made to the garden. We were greeted by the lovely Asha and had a quick tour of the bee-autiful garden full of trees, a pond, chicken coups and bees! We couldn't bee-lieve how nice it was there!

Sadly darkness was setting in a bit and there was so mulch to do!! We raked the chicken coups and mulched their area so that they'll bee nice and warm and cosy coming into winter months. We learned a lot about chickens including that their favourite sport is football! They regularly get together to play with a chicken feed filled ball for extra motivation and snacks throughout the game! They do not chicken out of their sports! I am hoping to see a game when the Westcott Garden has their open day at the end of October...!

On the way back we had a nice squat lesson from yours truly who just loves to talk of the merits of squats for strengthening the glutes...vital muscles which often become weak and need strengthening to improve your running form and help to prevent injury. Graham and Lara gave a truly excellent road side demonstration of this. Super squatters!

So I just want to say something quickly about why I love GoodGym...after a hectic day and just generally only operating at 50% Lisa, I came to GoodGym, saw everyones wonderful faces, helped a great community initiative, had a great chat and a laugh, did a great run, met some chickens, and left with a massive smile on my face...feeling right back to 100% Lisa!!! It was such a great night and all you Ealing GoodGymmers are legends.
