Report written by Brahma Pochee
15 of us came together yesterday for a rather lovely evening in an ever developing splendid east london dockland.
Chris joined us for his first GG task, after a recruitment drive at Charlotte's flat, nice work. And Sarah came back for round 2. Off to a good start already then. This weeks RWQ, "what headline act would you like to see at Glasto, dead or alive?" Leonard Cohen and Miles Davis with an evening night cap. Avicii, Taylor Swift, Kasabian, Biffy Clyro, Stormzy all offering a more energetic evening. The Beach Boys and The Beatles for the old school connoisseur.
We jogged down, pizza in hand/bag and got to work. 30mins of plant watering sailed by. Remember 15 peeps volunteering for a half hour is 1 person's 7.5 hour stint, that's a tremendous time saving injection. So grateful are the Dockland head honchos they fired up their pizza oven free of charge....and opened up the boat (inc the bar) which normally costs £75 per hour. Yeah I reckon they appreciate you guys!
Chris was head chef, spinning out pizzas like a pro, generously cooking everyone's before enjoying his at the last. Hats off to that man.
The muggy summer air was cut by a beautiful soothing breeze, we clinked beers on the deck of the boat, regaled cohabitation tales, ate an abundance of crisps (thanks Paula!). And everything was good in the world.
Next week we've got the adventure playground. We'll squeeze an interval session in, need to make up for lost sweat. Week after I'm looking to get something different in.
Have top notch week, and check the whatsapp group for parkrun chat - email me if you're not on the chat.
Until next week
