This morning we helped salthill junior parkrun celebrate their final event of the year and we did it the only way we know ho ho how - in fancy dress of course.
We all woke up right as rein(deer) before putting on our best Chrimbo clothes - which for Harsha, Sutyee and Manjit involved the loudest, brightest, warmest.... Gold coats! And there was Noel time like present day to wear them (it was freezing this morning!)
So as we arrived at the park to many a sideways glance! We had to hold on for deer life as the finish funnel was set up in the frosty windy conditions! Once set up we went off to set up the rest of the course - snow far snow good!
The dress up memo was read by some but forgotten by others - they are on the naughty list.
Prancer Pam was there with her santa hat and out on marshal position
Happy holly-day Harsha was GG (Golden Girl 1) also on marshal duty
Chrimbo Ciaran was on timekeeping
Advent calendar Abdul was out on marshal position
(No) Santa Sara was also out on marshal duties
Mince pie Manjit (GG) Golen Girl 2 was on scanning duties whilst Sparkle Sut (GG) Golden Girl 3 was in charge as Run Director
What a lovely finish to the year
Merry Christmas everyone See you in 2025!

After our junior parkrun shift we carried on doing our good deeds by litter picking the park. Again we had a parkrun family get involved which is always great to see.
Another 4 bags of rubbish were collected. Plenty of drinking bottles, takeway wrappers as well as a tinnie tiny Ted Baker shoe. We didn't throw this as the little owner may return - just like Cinders....

Another fresh Sunday morning as we work our way through the January challenge and get in as many sessions as we can.
This morning we had 6 members wrap up warm as we did our junior parkrun duties.
We had Harsha on RD duties, whilst Sandy, Pam and Ruth were on marshalling and I was on tail walker duty. Always great fun helping the youngsters safely get round the 2km course!
The team at junior parkrun have a container in the tennis courts area which is normally easy to open but the closure is always a little bit tricky! But lucky for us we had King of the containers Ciaran there to help!
A huge well done to Pam for achieving her 350th good deed and then her 351st on the litter pick task afterwards! Great effort

Ciaran Crean earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.
Ciaran completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Ciaran was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

After our junior parkrun stint, 6 of us stayed on to do a litter pick of the park.
Plenty of bottles, masks and tissues to collect. Even in 20 minutes we managed to collect 2 bags of rubbish.
Good job all
(rubbish round up I know! but I used all my puns on the parkrun report!)

What a crisp morning it was today... our motley crew of GGers ready and salted to crack on with the task at hand... supporting our local junior parkrun.
We had Alison on walkers duties in her orange high vis.
Pam ; Harsha; Keira and Nital were all on marshalling duties around the smoky looking course with all the low lying fog this morning.
Whilst I was on timekeeping duties making sure I clocked in all the children in the bitter cold... cant wait till its hot again and we get fried to a crisp!
Ciaran did a splendid job as Run Director on his final stint... a crispy morning for it but a job well done!
Cheesy puns... I know
See you all soon
