It was a lovely eve down on the farm yesterday. Abby, Ellie, Leszek and myself went for a short run session beforehand using local roads to run to various paces.
It was our first task of the year in daylight and we got to work shifting barriers and shoveling sand to help make a new enclosure for two ponies soon to arrive on the farm.
It was a good workout and we had a great time - many hands make light work!

We were back at the farm this week with our first duty being to move lots of barriers from the top of the farm down to the bottom that had been being used for a new pond area that is being built. We were then put on path laying duty moving lots of woodchip from the car park by shovelling and wheeling. It was a fun session and definitely a good workout.

Derek Jones earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.
Derek completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Derek was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

We will never say shifting wood chip is hard after a night shifting shingle! The farm are preparing for some very exciting new arrivals in the next few weeks so all the shingle needed to be in place ready for the new enclosures to be built. We quickly learned how many shovel fulls of shingle were too many when trying to push the wheelbarrows and tip them up to empty them. We are fairly sure the shingle pile was regenerating as it didn’t seem to get any smaller, but we think we made a dent! It was great to welcome Derek for their first session - we hope to see you back soon.
