Connecting the community and supporting our neighbours, two things our GoodGymers do best.
We had another satisfying evening delivering 200 leaflets for Cambridge City Foodbank's Christmas campaign. Even the miserable weather couldn't stop us 💪
Meeting at the task, we got straight to it, enjoying the Christmas lights, advent windows, and the supermoon along the way. We covered 3 long streets and certainly clocked up the steps!
The winter appeal is raising vital funds and food donations to support families across Cambridge. We've valued being a part of this campaign, supporting others to do good in a different way 💛

We spent a lovely sunny morning helping Abbey People tidy up at the orchard. Nick and I had a nice surprise as, instead of just tidying up, we able to learn a new skill.
After starting off with some weeding around the seating area, we were shown how to construct a little border using willow. We wove strips of willow together to make a low fence around the strawberry bed. It was a very therapeutic activity and we ended up with a very pleasing result.
It was also Nick's birthday and he kindly brought cake so that we could join him in the celebrations.

Harriet Prior completed 25 good deeds with GoodGym.
Harriet has already done 25 good deeds with GoodGym. Instead of doing anything else, they've used their run to go and help people that need their help; digging, lifting, scraping, clearing, planting and weeding. Stuff that makes this a better place to be.

We were delivering hope on tonight's group run.
What a fun evening supporting Cambridge City Foodbank's Christmas campaign by delivering 300 leaflets to Cambridge residents.
Harriet and I met at Parkside Pools, had a stretch and got lit up before running to the first meeting point (enjoying the Winter Wonderland lights on route). It was an extra challenge running with 300 leaflet packs in our backpacks! Picking up Caroline, we took a run along the river to meet Daiana who had cycled to the task.
After a briefing and some logistics discussions, we split into two groups and got leafleting! The Christmas lights and some beautiful stained glass windows, really brightened the task. The highlight for both groups were the cats that came to help 🐈
After 45 minutes we had delivered all the packs 💪 We shared some leaflet puns for the report title and said our farewells before heading our separate ways and running back to our meeting point.
An uplifting task with lots of time to catch up while doing good. We go again next week 🙌

We spent a lovely morning at CoFarm helping Abbey People with maintaining the farm. It was great to have Ann back with us, and she and Catherine and I were able to have a nice catch-up. We also managed to clear a large area of Fat Hen, which I've learned is considered a weed but is also cultivated as a food in some areas of the world. My fun fact for today!
