One of GoodGym Kingston's more frequent and favourite task venues this evening... back to help at Growbaby.
Growbaby are an amazing charity that provides good quality, new and second-hand, baby clothes and equipment completely free of charge to anyone who needs it regardless of their income, background, or faith.
Tonight we had a few jobs to tick off the list... - Claire & Marcos and Dave got busy sorting out the multiple mattresses and cots that needed to be matched up and labelled. - Luke and Amreet sorted out the huge toy library, neatening up all the board games and disposing of any broken toys and random parts - Anna sorted out some of the clothes donations, pairing shoes and ensuring they were stored in the right age group - Raquel organised the bookcase and made room for the multiple new book donations - Dave checked the sell-by-dates and stacked baby powders and other food items - Rachel kept us all in check!
Safe to say we completed a load of tasks within the hour and left Growbaby in a much more organised state than when we found it!

Ten GoodGymers geared up this evening at Full Cycle, ready to put their cycling skills to good use, some even arrived on two wheels!
Upstairs we had a wheelie good success moving bikes and then found extra jobs taking off tyres and cutting the spokes off wheels - recycling where possible. Downstairs the team were kept busy recycling inner tubes and cleaning bikes - wiping down frames until they gleamed. The spare parts salvaged and recycling efforts proves that we're not just about fitness, but also about being eco-conscious.
It was a great effort from everyone, and Full Cycle were really grateful for our help. A big shout out to all the GoodGymers who came along. For a moment we almost had a Goodgym Merton takeover… but in Rachel's absence we tried not to poach everyone and of course we are just a big Goodgym happy family getting involved and supporting charities and organisations whenever we can ;)!

Luke said they'd do it and they weren't lying. They've hit their target for the January Challenge 2025
It was never in doubt. Luke committed to the January Challenge 2025, and they only went and did it.

Use-by dates. Not always applied at home, provided something passes the sniff test or hasn’t gone green, but an important factor at Kingsgate Student Pantry.
Much of this fun task involved a brilliant turn out of GoodGym members going through the various items donated to the student food bank.
Ken, Marcos, Rachel, Jana, Jacqui and Ana all got stuck in straining their eyes on packets to make sure everything was safe to consume. Dave used some elbow grease to clean the freezer while Claire and Julie did the same in the kitchen.
Luke and Tom, meanwhile, very nearly consigned 50kg of lentils to the dustbin when nearly mistaking the date they were packed for the use-by. Mistake amended, they were reassigned to smaller packets, with the bag sealer getting a thorough outing.
A fun task and a warm welcome from the Kingsgate team before we reconvened at the Albion

One of GoodGym Kingston's favourite missions this evening... cleaning the soft play at the YMCA Hawker Centre!
After a brisk run by the river, we were all excited to get cracking with our tasks. First on the list was to empty the ball pit, give it a deep cleanse and clean all of the balls. Whilst this was going on a second team wiped down the soft play equipment.
We're all big kids really and there were soon a few woops and hollers as Goodgymers slid down the slides and threw balls at each other. Gotta have a bit of fun whilst you work, eh!
When the work was done we took the opportunity to take a few fun pics in the freshly anti-bacced ball pit and all enthusiastically chucked balls at Rachel when she asked for a video. The things we do for Instagram...!
The hour flew by. Lots of fun had but also a whole lot of cleaning achieved and a good few dozen balls saved from behind and underneath the play equipment too!
