Firstly, what a great turn out - lots of smiling faces and festive attire. Apologies for accidentally putting a waiting room on the Zoom meeting... we got there in the end though! The power of video also meant we got to meet Maxine's sister and see various dogs and cats through the screen. Happy days.
The quiz
Big thanks to Lynn for an excellent festive quiz which had us collecting reindeer poo in place of points! Amazing. The winners with the most poo (34) at the end of the quiz were Katie L and new homeowner Catherine. There were some "excellent" renditions of White Christmas and the 12 days of Christmas but I'm not sure Zoom is quite the right tool for recording the GG Portsmouth choir just yet! We also learnt that 2 members thought that pigeons on Christmas cards should be a thing, if we see that in the Angela Chick Christmas 2021 range next year, we'll be asking for commission!
Awards
Really, I'd like to give everyone an award for getting through 2020 and still managing to do some good deeds in the community, you are all stars! Thank you to Angela for donating pins & badges for our winners. If you'd like to relive the presentation, you can find it here
Here's to 2021, probably a bit more online quizzing and hopefully some in person socials as well as lots of good deeds.

14 individual scavenger hunts proved we are a creative bunch! Searching for something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue, in a nod to Rosie's upcoming marriage, sounded easy enough. Just 4 items, but something borrowed...that could prove tricky. Of course nothing is impossible for Goodgym Portsmouth.
Jen completed hers a week early and a "borrowed" trolley proved hard to find, setting the bar high for the rest of us!
Maura got to try out her "new" leggings and used the backdrop of the gorgeous My Dog Sighs artwork at the Lido for something "blue".
Kat used her early morning run to her advantage creating a beautiful "new" sunrise and pre dawn royal "blue" sky.
Mel found a library poster for her "borrowed" and Katie used one of Tony's stylish orange caps!
We were all impressed that in true Goodgym style Tim used one of Portsmouth's "new" recycling bins within his items.
The Jo's and Jen were impressed with the "old" sole surviving D-Day landing craft in it's "new" position outside of the D-Day Museum.
Louisa shared her finds from the other side of Portsmouth Harbour, lovely to see a bit of Gosport.
Maxine took time out of her house renovations to share a pic of her "new", "blue" bathroom - great tiling job!
Sam "borrowed" a guinea pig (we don't think it was just for the scavenger hunt), and we got to see the guinea pig gallery created to make it feel at home.
Rachel won the most finds, finding two of each item from the east of the island.
Judy made us all hungry with her delicious blueberries.
The next training session is from Hilsea Lido on Wednesday evening, check out the website for more details.

Big thanks to quizmaster Tim for tonight's 28 questions.
Luckily, they were multiple choice (or guess) which helped those of us who struggle to access things we definitely once knew!
Everyone scored above 25% so we can therefore conclude that we all knew something. As a bonus we also got plenty of side facts with the answers, so plenty more things to forget!
Congrats to this week's winner Jen with a stunning 20/28, v impressive! She can't win next week as she's the host so the crown is there for the taking.

Wowzers what a weekend! Sixteen GoodGymers took on the most important July challenge ever. Who would win...Team Santa or Team Summer. The photos say it all really, incredible effort and I think this should be an annual event. So who had the quickest 5km time I hear you ask.......well it would seem the Santa beards slowed down the Santa's and the beach wear was ever so slightly more appropriate for running in July.......who knew? Team Summer had an excellent average time of 28 minutes 38 seconds and the Santa's weren't far behind with the average time of 29 minutes and 43 seconds. Great running teams!
