Sunday 16th February

This morning Jonny joined the Friends of New Hall Country Park.
Jonny biked the 5k to the task and the session was mainly planting tiny trees around the perimeter of part of the park. These trees were really small, so all that was needed was a slit made with a spade for them to be slipped in, then use your heel to push the earth back to the tree so that it stays upright. Soon enough we'll see some green shoots from them :)
Once finished Jonny biked the 5k back home again. This is a monthly Community Mission and the next one is Sunday March 16th.

This morning Jonny helped out at the Cancer Research charity shop in Sutton Coldfield town centre.
The task was to help out on the till. Plenty of scanning, cashing and bagging up. Jonny then ran the 2.5 miles home after the task.

This morning Jonny went to Sutton Park Parkrun in a bid to promote GoodGym in the new area of Sutton Coldfield.
He gave around 300 GoodGym cards out to Parkrunners as they came through the finishing funnel, the participants were coming through so fast he could have done with more hands!
Hopefully we'll see some at a GoodGym session soon :)

This afternoon was our 1st Community Mission at the Glovers Trust.
Olivier was on her 2nd CM of the day after helping out with the Erdington Litter Busters this morning!
On arriving unfortunately the shed was locked, but no problem we still could get on with the task, which was to clear the gardens of debri and litter.
We filled 2 bin bags of both. Whilst also meeting a very friendly cat, who was very happy to role around in the winter sunshine.
Once done it was time for a quick selfie by Jo and home for a warm drink :)

This morning Olivier and Jonny helped out at the Cancer Research shop in Sutton Coldfield.
Olivier did some pricing upstairs and Jonny helped out on the till. Plenty of customers were in the shop, many buying cut price John Lewis baubles!
The shop manager, Leanne was very appreciative of our help, so we'll be back helping out again in January :)
Once we finished Jonny ran the 4k back home after running 4k down to the shop earlier.

Tonight was the first ever GG Sutton Coldfield as we joined The Friends of Wylde Green Station for a litter around the station.
Jonny ran the 1 mile from home to join Anna who'd travelled from Tamworth. We walked around with the group picking litter on a mild November evening.
We saw the lovely Remembrance display that Friends of Wylde Green Station had produced and some rather interesting fungi growing on the station bank.
Once done we said our goodbyes and Jonny ran the 1 mile back home.
