Seven of us met at Woodthorpe Primary School ready to get stuck into some barkchip shifting. We were all delighted to find out that the distance between the barkchip pile and its end location was minimal - except Leanne who wanted to get some extra KM's in and reluctantly paused her watch when she realised she wasn't going to.
The barkchip pile that was donated to the school had some quirks. Several logs of various sizes buried within that made the shovelling quite tough. We had to first find a log, then loosen it and dig it out for Jane to shift. Or in Leanne's case - throw it at Jane. Several times. With varying excuses such as, "I thought you were Pete!"
The hour was soon up and we made the hard journey onwards to the pub to celebrate!

A group of GoodGymers showed up during their lunch hour to make a difference in the lives of the people living at Auden House. They were so efficient they even managed to clean-up the local streets!

many hands made light work of our usual tidy-up leaving Mikael free to forlornly shuffle around the hall like Pudsey bear with a freshly renewed sick note

On a cold, crisp night, six GoodGymmers returned to the Groves after Sunday's task to finish clearing the outside space.
The pallet truck was a novelty that caused some excitement (and a lot of noise). We loaded the soil that had been bagged up from the planters onto the truck over two trips and transported it to suitable locations for reuse.
We also cleared the path, removed some buddleia and bagged up all the branches and vegetation we'd left on Sunday.
A job well done.

Five hi-viz GoodGym Yorkies met on a cold but bright Thursday morning for a litter pick. Bland Lane is a hotspot for litter, especially bottles of alcohol (mostly vodka) and drinks cans and today didn't disappoint. After only 35 minutes we'd collected a whopping 10 bags of very heavy rubbish - with a water pistol included! We left the area looking so much better and were thanked by several passers-by.

Five Goodgymers met in Hull Road Park for a sunny lunchtime task. It was too frosty to weed the rockery as planned, but we barrowed some fresh woodchip to top up the raised beds and cleared away some of the old growth from last year. In the meantime, Rich scored a triple on the January bingo card by running round in all three of his Goodgym t-shirts to pick 100 pieces of litter, and recording the effort with a selfie.
