Deliver - rain and bow ๐ŸŒˆ

Thursday 12th September

Written by Mandy Driver

Thursday 6:15/ 6:30pm is GoodGym Windsor Night! ๐Ÿ‘‘๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

Tonights community mission we were back at one of our regular task venues Age Concern, The Spencer Denney Centre.

Our task was leafleting to raise awareness of the centre and fundraising so the GG postie trio Caroline , Bekah and Mandy got walking along the Clewer Hill Road, Rycroft, Duncroft and Perrycroft.

The rain showers at first made us sad ๐Ÿคฃ but it speeded us up ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ and we had to hug ourselves to protect the leaflets from getting wet ๐Ÿ’ฆ and soggy.

But the beautiful sky, sunset ๐ŸŒ…and rainbow ๐ŸŒˆ made us happy ๐Ÿ˜€ to be out and about.

Lots of chats about our days, family etc as we went along.

We had no leaflets left so we made our way back to the centre, did the Windsor curtsy and bow then made our way home.

Thank you Caroline and Bekah for your help and braving the weather. ๐Ÿ“ฎ ๐Ÿ‘‘๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ๐ŸŒฆ๏ธ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

The GG Team Tidying Olympic Games !

Thursday 8th August

Written by Mandy Driver

Thursday 6:15/ 6:30pm is GoodGym Windsor Night! ๐Ÿ‘‘๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

Tonights community mission was for Age Concern at The Spencer Denney Centre.

We all made our way in various ways. Running, walking or by car. There we had a team chat while waiting for everyone to arrive.

Tonightโ€™s dream team was Marilyn, Jen, Helen, Adam Didem, Bekah and Mandy.

Rachel the task owner gave us instructions about our tidying up task. Lots to move and sort today making the conference desk clear for interviews and to hire out and create more storage in centre.

Helen jumped the gun ๐Ÿคฃ at the start before the before photo. She lost some pints there ๐Ÿคฃ

Then the emptying the cupboard doubles team with Helen and Adam opened the games.

Jen and Bekah wrestled with the full cupboard and then did a bit of fencing with the bowling pins. Mandy convinced Jen to be a good sport and try a bit of juggling wearing a cone on her head which actually should be included in the games ๐Ÿคฃ

The conference room to garage relay race by Didem, Marilyn and Adam and Helen was timed to perfection.

Mandy did her best to coach and monitor progress of the teamโ€™s performance.

The table was cleared and the shelves moved and refilled ... so we had a victory! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

Medals all round ! ๐Ÿฅ‡๐Ÿฅˆ๐Ÿฅ‰

Thank you ๐Ÿ‘‘๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

Van-tastic Clean!

Thursday 11th July

Written by Didem Campion

This evening we were back helping at the Spencer Denney Centre, the home of Age Concern in Windsor.

Amy and YeลŸim joined us from Maidenhead. Marilyn, Sue, Adam and Didem all met up at the task.

Our task owner provided us with everything we needed to clean the inside of their van. Team first took out all the rubbish left in the van then started hoovering. We soon realised out of the 3 hoovers one was completely full and the other had a blocked head part. Do not fear when you have Sue in the team, she very kindly cleaned the blockage with the help of a toolbox from the centre and Adam kindly emptied the full one.

We spent rest of our time hoovering followed by spraying the dashboards and other bits and bobs before wiping it down.

The inside of the van had not been cleaned for sometime but with a bit of hard work it was sparkling!

Van-derful job team.

Thank you for coming!

Windsor Super Troopers!

Thursday 13th June

Thursday 6:15pm is GoodGym Windsor Night! ๐Ÿ‘‘๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

Tonight we were back helping Age Concern at The Spencer Denney Centre painting the walls in the lobby and doing a bit in the garden.

Who stole summer? Gimmie, Gimmie, Gimmie ๐ŸŽถ us some sunshine please! Itโ€™s was a grim day and rain was due so we opted in our group chat vote for painting indoors.

We all met at the centre tonight (some walked or by car)and while waiting for everyone to join we played with the baseball in a circle not sure what the name of the game ๐ŸŽถ was. Still it kept us entertained.

Task owner Rachel had the brushes and paint at the ready and showed us what needed doing.

Special welcome to Nic for her first Windsor ๐Ÿ‘‘Thursday evening session ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป and Didem has now completed 10 good deeds with today being her 11th so well done Didem. ๐Ÿคฉ

The crew tonight were Helen, Marilyn, Natalia, Jen, Sue, Nic, Caroline , Didem and Mandy.

We cleared the lobby area, got set up with dust cloths, chose our preferred brushes and a section of wall.

ABBA was Didemโ€™s choice of tunes tonight although we did seem to get take a chance on me ๐ŸŽถ on repeat ๐Ÿคฃ but thank you for the music ๐ŸŽถ anyway!

Sue and Marilyn decided to be brave and did some garden tidying instead of painting and cleaned the garden furniture in case the sun does ever decide to show itself ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป and the guests can sit outside.

The others literally finished up all the paint suppliesโ€ฆ Mumma Mia ๐ŸŽถ ! So then one buy one after tidying up and washing brushes in the Waterloo ๐ŸŽถ we all ended up in the garden anyway โ€ฆ so much for the vote ๐Ÿคฃ still it wasnโ€™t too bad. Most of the rain was coming off the leaves of the tree in the wind.

Not letting anyone go early Mandy put on a quick 10 min Joe Wicks fitness video and we had a go at what we could without a mat.

Then it was time to do our group photoโ€ฆ sorry I missed Helen in this ๐Ÿฅฒ then did our Windsor curtsy and say our goodbyes.

Thank you all so much for coming lovely to see you all and some new faces these last couple of weeks ๐Ÿ˜

Letter Boxing!

Thursday 9th May

Written by Mandy Driver

Thursday at 6:15pm is GoodGym Windsor Night! ๐Ÿ‘‘๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Tonight we were delivering leaflets for Age Concern to help raise awareness and to also help get them get more donations.

We all (Didem, Adam, Jen, Bekah and Mandy) met at The Binoy for a lovely social walk in the sunshine โ˜€๏ธ to the task โ€ฆ yes we did say sunshine .. โ˜€๏ธโ˜€๏ธโ˜€๏ธ

We met task owner Rachel and viewed the handy work from our previous painting task in the entrance and collected the leaflets. We guessed we had about 350 to do so we got started. Making sure to stick to the area asked and not going to houses with a no junk mail notice.

We split up into teams but both had a sunny side of the street tonight โ˜€๏ธ Careful not miss a door, get our hands stuck in the letter box, working out how to get in some wall mounted boxes and working our way along noting where we had been already. We did lose each other for a spell but a phone call gathered us back. Jen disappeared up what we thought was a short line of cottages and came back with hardly any leaflets left towards the end looking triumphant ๐Ÿคฃ

Bekah and Mandy were offered a cash job to deliver 1000 leaflets from a tree surgeon on the roadside but we declined ๐Ÿคฃ not even sure what the going rate was anyway ๐Ÿคฃ worth looking into though as a future career!

Then because Mandy had, had letter box /boxing on her mind all day she insisted on some post task air boxing. Mandy got the eye of the tiger tune on and we made a very feeble attempt at it but it was funny.

A quick curtsy and bow ๐Ÿ‘‘๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธand we made our way home.

Thank you as always for attending ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

Paint then Ball

Thursday 11th April

Written by Mandy Driver

Thursday 6:15pm is GoodGym Windsor Night! ๐Ÿ‘‘๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Tonight we were helping Age Concern at The Spencer Denney Centre to do a second coat to finish brightening up their entrance hall.

This was a community mission so Mandy and Bekah met at the The Binoy for a social run to the task while Chris, Jenni and Jen met us there.

We were met by task owner Sharon who showed us where all the paints etc were.

We put on some dance music and the battle commenced. We started by laying down the dust sheets, finding our favourited brush/roller and painting away. Then it was time to attack the blue paint patches showing through that we had missed on the first coat so we worked on those first then got the rest covered. As itโ€™s brick it was trickier to get good coverage but we were tactical and using different game with brush sizes. We did get a bit splatted in place we donโ€™t quite know how ๐Ÿคฃ

As time was getting on (obviously painting is fun as the time just flys) Jen started the washing down (soon joined by Jenni) of the paint trays and we took up the sheets so we could check our work. Seemed we had painted ourselves pretty well ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿคฃ

Afterwards there was some basketball shooting practise on offer in the nearby park then time for home to get a wash!

Thank you all as always Windsor GGs ๐Ÿ‘‘ โ™ฅ๏ธ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป
