A job well done

Our task tonight was to help our local charity " Care for Veterans" set down and put away their Christmas Fayre . The Fayres are a massive opportunity to fund raise fire this amazing charity.

It was a delight to welcome Sabina for her first task and introduction to our GG Worthing crew. Sabina demonstrated that she is an absolutely perfect fit. Her energy and strength together with her undercover spy skills and, of course, her love of stout drinking made her a perfect fit - where she puts that stout will always be a mystery to me !

Paulhad been at the Christmas Fayre all afternoon in his capacity of a head of sea cadets ( absolutely the wrong title but you get the gist ! ) meaning he totally deserved a pint to celebrate such an illustrious and high earning charitable cause.

Mel loved gaining on her step count and strength training following a horrible few weeks of being ill. Lovely to see you back 😍

Paul was, as ever , a fantastic energy despite loosing his GAP jumper tonight. This will remain a mystery until its returned 🙏 Maybe we will see it on the clothes rail at the next Fayre 🙈😅

Roxychauffered me to the task mainly because she gets lost a lot but her energy is second to none - thank you my lovely friend 😊 🙏

Finally,Barbara has to take the prize for going the extra mile today bringing her very strong son, Matt, to help, together with her lovely sister Jacqui too. So very much appreciated and all your help was invaluable.

It was so good to participate with this amazing charity tonight

Some of us headed to the pub afterwards- I think we all felt thirsty! But it was so good to chat and get to know each other.

Until the next time ....

Thank you all

Julia xx

Saturday social vibes

What a wonderful turn out on a sunny afternoon to support the Care for Veterans summer fayre. There were 13 of us including Jemima who came along in her GG t-shirt with mum Tamsin to help us too - If only there was a junior GG Jemmie would be there every week!

it was lovely to see Natacha again and we are looking forward to welcoming a GG baby boy in 3 months time :)

There was a guest appearance from Nick who brought some muscle along to compliment Johns!

Belinda, Sue Daisy and Anne together with Roxy and Paula all pulled out all the energy meaning that we managed to be cleared up within 1 hour. Myra was delighted and let us choose a drink whilst Jemmie oped for sweet treats ( lots of them! )

And so to the pub

We all headed to the pub to celebrate Belinda 300th good deed that she achieved last week. John had made an amazing GoodGym Gulliver in celebration and had also managed to keep it a secret from her too. Congratulation and thank you to Belinda Kudos to John too !!

It was a really nice way to spend a late afternoon. Roxy has requested a picnic next time!

Is it really nearly Christmas?

Saturday 25th November 2023

Today a group of six GoodGymers headed to Care for Veterans to help them pack away after their fundraising Christmas Fayre. Our efforts were hugely appreciated. What we were told would usually take their volunteers around four hours to do was achieved in just over an hour of joint hefting and shifting.

We can expect to be called in again to help with their summer edition!

Also, they had a request. Next year it will be 80 years since D-Day. Care for Veterans would love to have 80 people running on their behalf at the Worthing 10k on the 9th June - including teams of volunteers to push wheelchair veterans. Go on, you know you want to....
