Our evening tonight was going to take place in Bute Street over Cardiff Bay, this part of Cardiff is steeped in glorious HISTORY and deserves a visit from the goodgymers.
And so, we made our way for a litterpick session. Walkers heading straight there on a shorter route, whilst Michael took the runners out for a 6km run (total there and back).
Plenty of time to catch up tonight, debating why bushes were cut the shapes they are - especially when they look like street urinals! A good 4 bags of rubbish, quite clean as the bags weren't full, a quick photo and then time to head back for some hot food.
We will be returning this way for a new project in a couple of weeks time.

In a dirty* episode of the Netflix series tonight, 12 Goodgym folks ran and walked to Adamsdown. * dirty as in rubbish btw!
(Be warned this is a mis-match of Bridge and Bridgerton puns, and I have never seen Bridgerton).
They split into two groups and quickly collected 6 bags of rubbish, which put the GG total for the day to 10 bags. Tantalizingly close to our 100 bag target for the month. Sign up on the relay sheet and collect a bag before the month is out if you can! Please!!
Take me to the Bridge - some of the group headed off to collect rubbish from a particularly mucky bridge that Imy and Martin had spotted en route to the meeting point.
Simon and Garfunkel could not make it but this really was a Bridge over troubled waste and several bags were quickly filled with the usual litter items as well as some discarded clothing - probably flung off prior to a steamy scene on set!
The other group collected rubbish from around the school and nearby playground. There was nothing novel about this task, although we did collect some pulp fiction at one point. Some passers by of the polite society did thank us for carrying out our work with such nobility. We collected lots of chocolate and sweet wrappers but sadly no Viscount ones!
We won't win any Emmy awards for our work but we enjoyed it and have done some more good in the Community.

Credit to everyone who has turned up to the ore task litter picks this month, the area around the church was looking nice and not too littered this evening. struggling to fill two bags the group branched out to nearby offices and university buildings and hit the jackpot. Darren and Nathan, who now have a keen sense for litter after all their January efforts, shuffled along a raised wall to find a mountain of bottles and cans. in no time at all they were up to four bags of rubbish bursting at the seams, and were warmed up nicely to go and join the main group task

Another Tuesday pre-group run litter pick for Cardiff Goodgym. Disgarded wine bottles were the toast of the town today, with 8 or so bottles being collected, with quite a few coming from the branches of trees. There was no time to Wine about it as they quickly collected two bags full of rubbish and then headed off for the evenings main event

Our second social Walk and litterpick, this time meeting at the Blackweir Parkrun start.
Natasha and Martin had already met further up and were walking over to join. Michael was there with the bag of litter pickers and gloves, Nathan arrived with the pink litter bags and his two amazing children. Tabitha on the trusty scooter, with brilliant light up wheels was happily on litter spotting duty. Whilst we were encouraged along by Elinor in her pushchair.
We managed a good 3 bags of rubbish, lots of plastic (unfortunately) a part of a car and bits of clothing....There was the hidden party area, through a secret passage of bamboo to a fire pit, paper plates and 2 hidden chairs. All finished with a stop off at the Secret Garden Cafe for coffee and cake.
We wish a fond farewell to our lovely Natasha as they head off to Greece tomorrow. Expect a visit soon, I'm sure we can do a litter pick in Greece!

The recent sub zero temperatures may have moved on but GG Cardiff still managed to find and clear some snow during its recent litter pick (in the form of a see through resealable bag). It went into the rubbish bags alongside the usual cans, bottles, vapes and cigarette packets.
7 Goodgymers turned out for the pre group run pick and cleared another 3 bags of litter from the city's streets
