Three GoodGymmers braved the muddy course at Morden Parkrun this week, proving that even when the going gets tough, the tough get going (and a little bit muddy!). The dynamic duo of marshals, Paul and Jade, kept runners on the straight and narrow (or as straight as it could be on the muddy course!), offering encouragement and preventing any pile-ups. Meanwhile, Mike achieved a PB and crossed the finish line in plenty of time to wield a barcode scanner, demonstrating true multi-tasking prowess.
Despite the slippery conditions, spirits remained high, with plenty of smiles and a quick coffee before heading of, some to another Goodgym session and more mud.
A huge thank you to Morden Parkrun for having us! We look forward to returning soon and hopefully finding the course a little less boggy. Join us next month: https://www.goodgym.org/v3/sessions/volunteer-at-morden-parkrun-8a6cda09-9c04-4b6c-84b6-84dacac3a607

This morning, up and out to volunteer at the parkrun. Was put on tickets as the runners and walkers came in, mud streaked. A very well run event.

Five Goodgymers went along to Parkrun Morden having been allocated marshal responsibilities on the roster. It was a crisp but muddy morning but we were welcomed by the organisers and it was great to have such a good turnout - a record so far for a Goodgym Merton session! Also Peter and Emily's first experience of Parkrun, and Paul and Claire's first Merton area session. Hopefully the first of many, come back anytime!
Great to see everyone and chat between finishers arriving across the muddy line. Thanks to Parkrun Morden for having us.

2 Goodgymers signed up to volunteer at Morden Parkrun helping with the set up and barcode scanning. As first timers it wasn't too difficult to get stuck in on what was a chilly morning.
2 further Goodgymers arrived at the finish line after the run, and joined us to help with barcode scanning and putting the equipment away. We even managed to give out a few leaflets.
Afterwards we headed for a coffee to discuss all things Goodgym Merton and share ideas for getting the area and tasks up and running and to encourage new members to sign up. A great way to spend a Saturday morning and great to meet everyone.
Thanks Andy, Louise, Kate and the rest of the Morden Parkrun team for having us and we look forward to supporting with another event soon.
