Ealing Report written by Sevan
After task owner Tamzin's husband drove away their car at the start of today's task, it changed the list of today's jobs for the team. There were still a few new requests to prepare and most of the time would be on sorting new donations.
The incoming donations were supposed to all be women's size 10s and 12s. As well as separating the donations by size and type (top under or outer layers, plus bottoms), the team debated if some of the donations were for men or women and why men's and women's clothes had buttons on opposite sides. Apparently it was because rich women had servants to dress them, so the buttons were switched to suit the servant's dominant hand when they were face on with the buttons.
As well as sizing and categorising, the team also had to inspect the donations for damaged, dirty or inappropriate finds. They found all 3, plus men's and children's clothes in the bags, which kept them busy sorting for most of the session. The unexpected items included a leopard skin negligรฉe and a pair of fishnets, a child's doctor's play coat and a polo shirt labelled "Jack Ryan stand in". Only the polo shirt was a necessary donation and only if they found a suitable law enforcement officer to wear it. Stranger things have happened...
Kash went to prepare the newly received requests before everyone wrapped up for a well deserved lunch.

It was another busy day at Pitshanger Junior parkrun, with plenty of runners, volunteers and 7 GoodGymers in total. It was great to see Chris back at one of our tasks after a bit of a break and she was marshalling along with Maria. Chris is not be confused with Chris who was one of many funnel managers.
The first of the 119 finishers was timed at a hair over 7 minutes by Sevan, which is rather speedy. There was more drama to come at the other end of the field as the last runner (let's call her Joan for the sake of the pun) collected an army of hi-vis clad troops in her wake. They included many Duke of Edinburgh marshals and tailwalkers Kash, Steph and Angela, who got up early to attend her first GoodGym session. Welcome Angela! ๐ฅณ๐๐
Joan's poorly camouflaged army marched towards the funnel and stopped just short. There was a stand off, with everyone in the funnel wanting Joan to peacefully cross the line and Joan being a bit grumpy and threatening at the gates. Eventually, Joan's army was dispersed and her mum convinced her to complete the 2km and collect the last finish token. Disaster averted for another week.
