Southwark Report written by Chalomi King
Ana, Jeremy& Chalomi met at St Faith's Community Centre to help the GROAD volunteers sort donated items as well as help set up the 'Open House' for the beneficiaries of the project (vulnerable families, refugees, and people in crisis).
Ana ran all the way from Wandsworth contributing double to the January challenge and earning the prestigious title of the GROAD Runner. Sadly I forgot to take a picture but I will do next time :)

Westminster Report written by Anastasia Hancock (she/her)
Every time we visit the amazing Abbey centre in Westminster it's brilliant to see all the activities going on in every room of the enormous space. From free legal clinics to Eastern European folk dancing for older people, the place offers an abundance of resources for local people.
The centre has recently been donated a load of flowers, including pansies and ferns, from the royal parks - for free! Our job was to get all the plants into their permanent homes in time for winter.
We grabbed trowels and had a brief discussion on colour schemes and artful plant-scaping before getting stuck in. It was very satisfying sliding the 40 or so plants out of their pots and into the planters and before we knew it the job was done.
We'll be back in January for our next session at the Abbey centre, don't miss out on the opportunity to support the community in central London.

Westminster Report written by Anastasia Hancock (she/her)
Last night we were back for our second regular visit to the Abbey Centre near Victoria. It was great to be back and see all the busy sessions happening at the centre, from art therapy to AA, community champions to community choir, hot meals for rough sleepers, language classes, support groups and more...the place is a true lifeline for local people.
Our job for the evening was in the beautiful courtyard garden at the back of the building, so after being led through the huge building we grabbed tools and got to work.
The task was to sweep and clear the space, and we wasted no time clearing the leaves from the beautiful climbing tree. The place was obviously home to quite a few pigeons judging by the number of feathers we also picked up!
It didn't take long to get the job done, but it was easy to see the difference.
We'll be back next month for another session at this amazing place!
Next week we're back at St Andrew's youth centre, sign up here

Wandsworth Report written by Anastasia Hancock (she/her)
One hot Saturday morning, two (slightly battered) wheelbarrows and one enormous pile of mulch was no match for a team of four strong GGers!
