Mottingham Report written by MARCIA ABRAHAMS
We got loads done today, with a good sized team of 5 GoodGymers focused on extending the path which was started last week.and clearing some more of the space which will become the Woodland Garden.
The paving team got their heads down on paving the path, whilst the ladies ( strange gender - based division of labour that....) were set the task of clearing the Woodland area of felled branches, leaf piles revealing more of the space, and umderplanting a large tree with daffodils and mini tulips ๐ท
The guys were absolute stars, not stopping until a significant section of pathway stretched in front of them.
As were the "wimmins" including one who is half way through her pregnancy all having a go at planting in inhospitablly tough ground.
We're all anticipating the completion of the finished set of gardens in July, but for now, the team left with a sense of satisfaction and achievement. Well done, team, a pleasure, as always ! !

Excellent report Marcia, although you could have mentioned the โwomenโs workโ included wielding a large pick axe! Something this puny male paver would have struggled with. See you next week.

Monday 20th January
Kamal has done their first good deed with GoodGym.
Kamal is a now a fully fledged GoodGym runner. They've just run to do good for the first time. They are out there making amazing things happen and getting fit at the same time.
Monday 20th January
Kamal earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.
Kamal completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Kamal was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

Today's task was the start of a big job - laying new paving around the edge of the church so that the whole community garden space is accessible.
We shared around various jobs:
๐ช Shifting the slabs from the other side of the building - check out the pic of Rochelle making it look easy!
๐ Shovelling and wheelbarrowing a load of sand
๐ Evening out the ground and sand
๐ชจ Laying down the slabs neatly - Marco was very precise!
๐ฑ Marcia and Kamal(at his first GoodGym session! ๐ฅณ) were helping to get a new 'trug' filled with compost for a new accessible bed.
๐ Rochelle was also chief cat whisperer
In the end, we laid down 4 slabs, setting a strong precedent for those that tackle the next section!
Top job team ๐๐
