It was Team K for the first shift of Saturday, Kris and Katie manned the trollies and cajoled shoppers into picking up a couple of tins with their shop and donating them to the foodbank.
We observed a few bits of drama but also lots of kindness from people who donated goods. We also heard stories from people who'd been homeless or used the foodbank previously.
A nice start to Saturday. Next on the list of jobs for Kris was making a curry and watching the rugby. I went off to find some hills...
As always, there are lots more opportunities to join us to do good. Have a look at the listings and take your pick!

Kris Barnfather earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.
Kris completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Kris was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

Within just a few hours the customers at Fratton Tesco helped us fill 15 crates of much needed food donations for our local food bank. What an achievement!
A big welcome to Kris who did his first official Good Gym task today and says he will be back! We look forward to seeing you again soon.
Maxine, Rosie and Kris alongside Nicky and Paul from the foodbank, took it in turns to welcome the customers to the store and ask if they would like to donate an item or two to the foodbank. We also helped collect, sort and pack the donations into crates. All of us were overwhelmed by the generosity and enthusiasm from the community, many providing bags of cans, bottles and cartons of goods!
We took on a few additional tasks too such as directing customers around the store, organising trolleys and of course no mission is complete without a bit of litter picking!
