Wandsworth Report written by Anastasia Hancock (she/her)
It was brilliant to see everybody for not one but two tasks last night. We set off with a quick round-up of news: the first ever donation from our GoodGym garden to Wandsworth Age UK โ a large bag of home-grown potatoes, gratefully received and reportedly delicious. Great to see some familiar faces back for a visit, our lovely regulars, and a special shout out for Kamil too, who notched up his first parkrun at the weekend.
With that, we limbered up and shared predictions for the eveningโs challenge: how many panes of glass we would manage to wash at Omnibus Theatre, a charity that brings the arts to the local community. Numbers ranged from optimistic to ambitious โ and one person got very close to the final tally (more on that later).
After a zippy 2km run, we arrived to find buckets and cloths neatly lined up, ready and waiting. The group split into two squads: one to tackle the great glass clean-up, the other to give the GoodGym garden a bit of TLC.
The garden team were soon picking ripe tomatoes, and uncovering tiny treasures โ like the brand new peppers that have just appeared. Meanwhile, the window crew got stuck straight in, leaving the panes sparkling in their wake.
By the end, we reunited to compare notes and count up the eveningโs total: a grand total of 60 windows were washed, guessed most accurately by Rob!
There was still time for a tough but effective lower-body blast in the square before running back and then heading off to the pub, where we split forces again โ this time across quiz tables and finishing 2nd and 6th. Great result!

Camden Report written by Alex Murtough (he/him)
Nine wonderful GoodGym folk make a difference in Camden Town!!
Tucked within Camden Town's bustle is an estate with a very special communal courtyard ๐ and this lovely group gifted 60 minutes to make this green space much healthier and nicer!
Emilie, Jackie, John, Steve, and I started out in Somers Town and we took a social conversation-filled run up and over to Camden ๐ where we met Christy (on their first good deed โ a huge welcome!), Imogen, Michael, and Vic who had all made their own journeys by bike and foot :)
Welcomed by Dan, Vic, and other residents, this special team split into a bundle of good-deeding efficiency:
โค๏ธ We targeted the raised decking ๐ pulling weeds, grabbing fallen leaves, and sweeping everything into a pristine shine!
โค๏ธ We scraped the weed-filled gaps between the paving slabs ๐ leaving the courtyard a shining advert for block paving!
โค๏ธ We shaped the larger bushes ๐ cutting back the dead wood, gifting freedom to the buds yet to come!
And over everything else, last night felt like a community coming together ๐ our lovely group and four local residents ๐ it was a special hour :)
Here's to next time!

Greenwich Report written by Sarah M
...so we did! Along with lots of other tasks at a productive community mission today. A warm Saturday morning led 9 GoodGym-ers to St Richard's Church in Charlton, where our woodchip pathway project is nearly complete!
Our first task was to pin down the last of the membrane, and ferry as much of the remaining woodchip to cover it. Just a bit more woodchip is needed and the pathway at the side of the church will be ready. A local tree surgeon has donated the woodchip from recently lopped trees, so the material has been nicely recycled. Some of the team got to work sanding the front door, which now looks super smooth, and ready for some shiny varnish, while others smartened up the Church signposts by painting the red posts a glossy black.
Our last task was one we're very familiar with, which was clearing brambles in the back garden. Chopping and digging commenced, and both sides put in their best game - team Brambles had a better defence (look out for those thorny tacklers!) while team GoodGym struck for goal with an attack formation (secateurs & forks).
The whistle blew for full-time leaving the teams to debrief & pose for the newspapers.
Great match all & see you soon! ๐"
