Oh what a night!
It was a scorcher! But despite this we had a great turn out inc Kat, who was on her 100th good deed and so received the now customary garb of the @GGSHEFF wings and hat and she pulled it off marvelously!
This week we were back off to Heeley People's Park to continue with much needed help that Heeley Development Trust are in need of now that the summer sun is here to stay and Rob is the only Parkie on site to manage all of the huge and fantastic space the park has to offer.
With a quick overview done we got straight to work splitting into TASK FORCE TEAMS lead by;
A great team effort was put in by all, with some putting in some sprints to make our time as effective as poss, nice one!
After saying our goodbyes we formed a circle and had an alternative game of duck, duck goose that involved sprints and various plank positions.
Next we split into 2 teams and formed a long line of high planks for the complete team to commando crawl through in a race to be the victorious team!
On route back we chucked in some sprint and returns and stair sets for good measure.
Until next week, happy running!

*There and back again... by GoodGym-Baggins*
We ran up hill and down dale, and then back up again!
From the Steel City streets, we arrived at the Lushes Longshaw Estate where we started our 8k training run.
We set off from the front of the lodge and headed east toward the old gamekeepers cottage at White Edge - taking in our evenings first views across the Dark Peak.
Dancing round the trees and hotstepping over the rocks, we heading down-down-deeper-and-down into the woods of lower Padley Gorge, a woodland straight out of a *Tolkien* book. Traveling through *Hobbiton, we bolted across the wooden bridge, avoiding the *dark riders** and up the steep ( sooo steep) stone steps to what could have been *Mount Doom! *
With no *ring to burn or Orc's to fight*, we pressed on across the Lawrence fields towards the iconic Owler Tor. Climbing up onto the grit stone Tor where we perched. With the low sun hanging in the sky, we rested a moment. Taking in a 360 view across Britain's oldest national park.
The final stretch took us passed the old boat pond and back to the lodge.
After catching our breath, Kim took us though our stretches before heading home for a pint of *Middle Earth *mild!

This week @GGSHEFF celebrated it's 100th group run - WOOOOP WOOOOP!
We were back off to Lynwood Gardens this week to help out Pappa G with the ongoing upkeep that is needed at the gardens and Kindergarten.
A huge welcome to 2 new runners to the GG Fam;
GIVE EM A CHEER!
With a couple of loopbacks on route to keep the fam 2gether4eva we made our way out to Lynwood Gardens where Big Daddy G was awaiting with tools and tactics for us all. We quickly identified 4 TASK FORCE team capitanos who would lead the brave GG clan into battle with various horticultural enemies in the garden.
The teams this week were;
Everyone got reyt stuck in with wheelbarrowers running and woodchip being spread like butter on a hot crumpet!
FANTASTIC WORK ALL
On the way back we slipped a few cheeky fun fitness bits in inc;
Until next time, happy running!
