We visited Wensum Park again to continue the work we started last week.
We finished clearing the 12 star sign flower beds. Some needed old roots digging out, lavender cut back, stones removing and some just a complete turnover of the soil.
They are now pretty much ready to be planted.
Well done everyone, we'll have to return later in the year to see how it has flourished over the summer.

This evening 12 GoodGymers broke their Wensum Park virginity as we visited there for the first time.
Congratulations to Rose for completing her 100th GoodGym deed!
Also a big welcome to Josie who was partaking in her first good deed.
The task in hand was to dig over so unused flowerbeds so they can be planted with new flowers etc.
Each flower bed already has a different star sign stone in front of it, so the plan will be to full it with flowers that relate to each colour in relation to the star sign.

On a lovely spring morning, 9 GoodGymers, 2 Vision Norfolk volunteers and 1 enthusiastic puppy took on the challenge of shifting 6 tonnes of soil - that’s the weight of 1 elephant or about 12 horses. Armed with jaunty wheelbarrows, we transported the soil across Marlpit Community Gardens into Vision Norfolk’s three newly built raised planters. Thanks to everyone’s hard work, the planters are now ready to grow a mix of potatoes, seasonal vegetables, and fresh salad. A warm welcome to Wayne, who joined us for his first mission!

We had the pleasure of having ITV News joining us to do some filming at our session tonight, which was as tidy up at Greenfields Community Centre.
With the strong Norfolk accents well prepared, a couple of us were also interviewed for the cameras.
I'm not sure when it'll be aired but I will keep you all updated.
We also welcomed Jack to GoodGym Norwich, he's done a few deeds at other GG locations but this was his 1st in Norwich.
The task this evening was to cut back a load of overgrown spiky bushes, to make the centre look more presentable.
It was a challenging task but the team really got stuck in and did an incredible job of completing the job in hand.

This week's Group Run was based at Mousehold Heath, but at a different location and area of the heath to where we normally meet.
A large team of GoodGymers met Will the Warden at Britannia Road, in front of the Prison. The conservation work on this visit was all around that area, which has one of the best views overlooking Norwich City Centre.
We gave a big welcome to two new GoodGymers - Amy & Dan, who were taking part in their first (of hopefully many more) good deed with us.
After a morning of hard work, it was finished with a nice hot drink to warm the cockles.
