Last night in Hounslow was full to the brim with amazing GoodGym spirit!

16 of us met to support a new partnership between Hounslow FoodBox, a charity which provides an invaluable lifeline to struggling families, and the Chiswick allotments team. The idea is that the space will be used to grow vegetables which will then be donated to Hounslow Foodbox so that local people have access to fresh, healthy, organic fruit and veg, no matter their circumstances.

There was no time to waste so we immediately got stuck in with forks, spades and Jonny on the strimmer! With Kourosh from the allotments overseeing the progress, and Sunny from Hounslow FoodBox telling us all about the plans, we were incentivised to work even harder.

Grass was pulled up, planks shifted, weeds eliminated and soil turned. It was incredible to see the space transforming before our very eyes! It's such a big area, it will really make a difference and has loads of potential, but there's still a lot to do So if you have a spare hour next Thursday, why not sign up here to put in another shift with Michelle - both charities will really appreciate it!

With our time up, we dashed back to the Green to play some fun fitness games - the theme of the week was 'games that had previously been disasters so were due a revisit'! The first was the tip cup games - the idea was two teams battled it out to turn over as many cups as possible. Now, I'm not saying there definitely was some cheating going on, but let's just say there were some suspect tactics! We then moved on to British Bulldog, which, with some ex rugby players on the team, was virtually pro level! There was incredible sprinting and dodging from everybody, and Sophie and Will emerged victorious (and thankfully unscathed!).

It also happened to be some milestones last night. A massive, huge well done to Paul and Steph who both reached 300 good deeds, having dedicated themselves to helping their communities and covering some serious miles in the process (not to mention a few nettle stings and bramble scratches!). Congratulations on some amazing GGing both! It was also a milestone for me, and I just want to say an enormous thank you to each and every one of you for being the most incredible team, for the beautiful messages and for being part of something we can all feel proud of - you're all sensational humans. Thank you for making every minute so special - and for that astounding cape! Long live GoodGym!
