Report written by Rosa
A 14-strong group headed to Manorfield Primary this evening for our final of four consecutive tasks over the summer holidays, helping Paul and the team to prepare to welcome their students back to school. Lovely to see a number of Newham and Tower Hamlets faces back again, and we welcomed neighbouring trainer Simon from Islington as well as Chem for her first GG task - great to have you both! Andy had a selection of tasks for us, although to much disappointment he had already completed all the desk-moving for the day before we arrived...
With classes coming back in bubbles, we were helping to fence off a number of areas in the playground so that each class had their designated area to play. Graham, Danny, Simon, Claudia, Paul, Chris and Rosa all set to work re-organising some of the fences that had blown over and stacking the spares in the recently cleared decking area (great job on finishing that off team, it looks transformed from my last visit in mid August!). Meanwhile Hilary, Lil and Chem got quickly stuck in to preparing 24 sand bags to weigh down the fences against the wind, and meanwhile Kevin, Sharon, Alex and Isabelle tackled various bread crates and assorted items that needed to be tidied on the other side of the school.
Thanks all for coming and to Manorfield for having us over the summer, look forward to returning again soon!
