Flip! It's snowing! In Lambeth! And other areas of London! Flip! That never happens!
Not to be deterred, runners in Lambeth, London and indeed across the country have been good deeding all week - hooray. It was the last Tuesday of the month, so the prestigious Shit Prize of the Month (SPOTM) was awarded - an incredible darts tournament programme and covetable ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY sign was given to the brilliant Zoe, who started her coach runs this month. Give her a cheer!
Beth and Tom B led the run down to Kennington Business Park, where we were helping charity United World Schools with an office move. They cleaned windows, lights, the door and desks, moved some boxes, took the rubbish out. James KB ate a lot of quadratinis.
The rest of us headed over to Myatt's Field to help with some tasks there. George went about cutting back the ivy with agressive aplomb and Alice C led a group of weeders. In 15-mins and with a small amount of warmth left, we had tidied away and after some star jumps, ice skating moves and skiing sans skis, we headed back to base.
Everyone went home and got warm. Nice work all.
Myatt’s Fields Park is run by a charity called Myatt’s Fields Park Project (MFPP) in partnership with Lambeth Council. Their mission is to grow a green and healthy neighbourhood by providing a beautiful environment, along with events, food, wellbeing, education and enterprise projects that meet the needs of the diverse area. They see the park as a true community hub, welcoming people of all ages and backgrounds.
