Who this task will support
Refugee Action Kingston
Refugee Action Kingston has been supporting refugees and asylum-seekers in and around Kingston-Upon-Thames for over 30 years. Against an increasingly challenging backdrop both in the UK and abroad, we have sought to be a positive source of support for our clients. One that focusses on matching the ambitions of our clients and their needs. We provide our clients with a wide range of support, from initial emergency assistance to long-term integration. Research confirms what we see every day: that language, employment, and housing have the biggest impact on refugee integration.

Refugee Action Kingston has been supporting refugees and asylum-seekers in and around Kingston-Upon-Thames for over 30 years. They do great work assisting refugees and helping them to build their life here in the UK and they've asked for our help.

They have an impressive bank of clothes and items but their storage system doesn't work. There have been new donations which haven't been checked and it's becoming overwhelming for their regular volunteers. They need our help! The clothes need to be organised - checking they are in good quality and ready to hand out. The storage system needs work so things can be found quickly - ideally items will be taken out of cardboard boxes and placed into clear plastic ones and labelled correctly.

Can you help? Sign up and we can help RAK with this task to improve the flow of items out of storage to people who need them.

And if anyone is handy with a drill, they have a couple of noticeboards to put up on the wall!

We will be meeting at the Quaker Centre for 6.30pm and will run 2.5km to Refugee Action Kingston, Neville House - Fifth floor, 55 Eden Street, KT1 1BW. We will get there for approximately 7pm if you need to meet us there. We will be doing a 2.5km run back after the task ends. We also have a walking group so please join in if you have an injury or don't want to run this evening. It's a great starter group!
