Refugee Action KingstonThis is a task of two parts! We have been asked to continue our help with Refugee Action Kingston to sort their donation system and need to focus on the kid's clothing. This won't take many of us - possibly 2 or 3 - so we've set up another task to go to Elm Road to help sort out the playground. The weeds have been cut back by Glendale but the nettles are creeping back and it's an issue for the kids that play there.
Task at Refugee Action Kingston
The clothes need to be organised - checking they are in good quality and ready to hand out. They need to be boxed an labelled up clearly so they are easy to locate for people looking for those items. Any kid's clothing from 0-5 needs to be separated off to go to Growbaby.
Task at Elm Road Park
Weeding and digging up nettles and other weeds within the playground. There will be some litterpicking as well. Please bring gardening gloves and long-sleeves to protect yourself from the nettles. All tools will be provided.
Can you help? Sign up and we can help RAK with this task to improve the flow of items out of storage to people who need them and also help keep the kids safe at the Elm Road Park.
We will be meeting at the Quaker Centre for 6.30pm and will run 2.5km to 1 Elm Rd, KT2 6HR. We will work out who gets to go to each task prior to the task so assume you'll be meeting at the Quaker Centre or Elm Road Park unless asked otherwise. We will get there for approximately 7pm if you need to meet us there. We will be doing a 2.5km run back after the task ends. We also have a walking group so please join in if you have an injury or don't want to run this evening. It's a great starter group!
And please join us afterwards at The Albion for a social so we can compare notes on our evening's activity1
