Adam, Anne, Claud and Katie met at the WWF car park and ran along the canal to Brockhill Care Home to join Josh and Sharon. It was lovely to see Katie and Josh after a long break.
The ladies at Brockhill Care Home were surprised to see us earlier than usual. It must have been thanks to Claud’s running pace. Everything was ready for us, from water for the runners to brushes and pots of varnish.
We tackled the varnishing of some of the garden furniture while being cheered by a couple of residents. We talked about Claud’s running prowess when achieving the challenge of walking, running or riding 150k in 15 days. With two friends, she managed to raise more than £3000 for the RSPCA England. One of Adam’s skills is to run each week 20k to Frimley and back to take part in a martial art session… while Katie and Anne ran 8k encouraging each other to keep going… good practice for Katie’s half marathon next March.
We hope to be able to return soon the Brockhill Care Home first because we always feel so welcome but also as they have several sets of chairs and tables requiring some attention.
From now on, we should remember to bring our torches, as the evenings get dark rather early! We ran back to Woking along the road via Horsell to ensure safety.
Next Wednesday we should return to the allotment to get ready to plant some vegetables for the winter months.
Happy running to everyone!
