It was lovely to see some GoodGym tourism last night, welcome to all but especially Jason along for his very first Hounslow run. Well done also to Beth who defied jet lag to join us virtually straight from the plane!

As usual we started with a run down of the week's news and had so many hat tips to give. Fabulous work Andy for shaving off a huge 5 minutes off your 10k pb and covering the most distance this month - although Jeremy is coming up behind you! Will raced a very tough 10k on Sunday in Hyde Park, well done to you, while the whole gang covered a huge number of kilometers and a massive load of good deeds during the January challenge. Final figures are yet to be confirmed, but what is certain is that the team smashed both targets. Amazing work.

Under the light of the supermoon we did our warm ups and discussed our favourite holiday destinations. God's own country of Yorkshire, New Orleans, Australia, Cuba and Finland all featured, and with the memory of journeys past, we set of on tonight's adventure.

With Remy backmarking we headed off to Ealing Road Baptist church, where Roger the Pastor was waiting for us with plenty of jobs. Jeremy and Jason got straight on to shifting furniture upstairs, while the rest of the group moved a pile of mattresses downstairs in GoodGym's inimitable style. The church doubles as a shelter during the winter and provides a warm night's sleep, shower and meal for homeless men in Hounslow, so we spent the evening setting up the beds ready for their arrival.

Job done, we set off back to our starting point for a fitness session, but not before setting up a guard of honour towards the end of the run for Andy, who was running his 100th kilometer of the month with us. Way to go! What an achievement.

Back at the Town Hall, we squished into one of the rooms for our core pyramid, which featured 10 tough abs exercises including squat thrusts, side planks, Russian twists and crunch pulses. Who's feeling it today? Great session everybody - a 5.5k run, a great task that helps out a valuable community resource, and a tough core workout to boot! Join us for more of the same next week.
